The discovery of hydrogen as a cure for disease

In 2007, Japanese scholars reported that 2% hydrogen in animal respiration can effectively remove the highly toxic free radicals and significantly improve cerebral ischemia and reperfusion injury. Chemical reactions and cytological methods proved that hydrogen dissolved in liquid can selectively neutralize hydroxyl radicals and anions of nitrite.The latter two are the most important mediators of oxidative damage, and the lack of their clearance mechanism in vivo is an important basis for the occurrence of a variety of diseases.They then used animal models of hepatic ischemia and myocardial ischemia to demonstrate that breathing 2% hydrogen can treat hepatic and myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury.The use of saturated hydrogen water can be used to treat the nerve damage caused by stress and the chronic oxidative damage caused by genetic defects in animals under oxidative stress.Nakao et al. from the organ transplant center of the university of Pittsburgh later proved that breathing 2% hydrogen could treat the inflammatory injury caused by small intestine transplantation, and drinking saturated hydrogen water could treat the myocardial injury after heart transplantation and the chronic kidney disease after kidney transplantation.Scholars in Japan and the United States have also demonstrated that drinking saturated hydrogen water or hydrogen rod produced hydrogen water can treat type 2 diabetes in humans, especially significantly improve the oxidative damage associated with type 2 diabetes.Xie keliang et al. of the fourth military medical university in China proved that breathing hydrogen can treat systemic inflammation, multiple organ failure and acute craniocerebral injury in animals.Our study also demonstrated that breathing 2% hydrogen can treat neonatal cerebral ischemia and hypoxic injury.Then, we succeeded in preparation of saturated hydrogen injection, and cooperate with the domestic more than 40 laboratory, has found that the injection of pain, arthritis, acute pancreatitis, senile dementia, chronic oxygen toxicity, delayed encephalopathy of carbon monoxide poisoning, liver cirrhosis, fatty liver, spinal cord injuries, chronic hypoxia, peritonitis, colitis, newborn hypoxia injury of cerebral ischemia, myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, renal ischemia-reperfusion injury and intestinal ischemia-reperfusion injury has a good therapeutic effect.In particular, our experiments have proved that early treatment can significantly improve the late neurological function and learning and memory ability of neonatal cerebral ischemia and hypoxia injury.These studies indicate that hydrogen is an ideal scavenger of free radicals, especially toxic free radicals, and has a potential clinical application prospect.Careful analysis hydrogen molecular biology research history in recent 5 years, scholars in Japan, the United States and China team has grown, but did not increase the level of the research, the reason may be the field has not been the concern of the international forefront of scientists on, currently on the forefront of international research is mainly about cancer stem cells, small molecular RNA interference, epigenetics, and central nervous system function, hydrogen biology in the large field of life science can only be a partial still relatively obscure small areas.In addition, there are special difficulties in the research methods of hydrogen biological effects, such as quantification and tracing, which are also objective factors influencing the rapid development of hydrogen biological research.
